As of March 2010, Kylie Bush has been our licensed Physical Therapy Assistant here at Jerry Mercer Physical Therapy. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science at Berry College in Rome, Georgia in 2006 and Associate's of Science in Physical Therapy Assisting at South University in Savannah, Georgia in 2009. She has taken the position as an opportunity to serve the entire patient load with all the creativity, manual and critical thinking skills she has to offer. After Mr. Mercer performs the initial evaluation the patients are placed in Kylie's hands. She, along with our Physical Therapy aides, work to meet the patients where they are physically and psychologically in order to reach long term goals they and Mr. Mercer desire.
Trey Harrell is a Physical Therapist's Aide at Jerry Mercer Physical Therapy. He is working on finishing his degree in Exercise Physiology from Valdosta State University. He offers knowledge on exercise and cardiovascular complications. Trey works one on one with the patients on a daily basis, taking them through their exercise protocols, and providing assistance with proper exercise techniques. He is certified in the Anondyne Therapy Program we offer.
Amanda White has a degree in Massage Therapy with a concentration in Neuromuscular Therapy. She is a member of American Massage Therapy Association and is Nationally Certified. She offers exclusive benefits to our neuropathy patients who suffer from pain due to significant decrease in circulation, Amanda works with the patients after hey receive Anodyne Therapy Treatments in order to increase their circulation and increase healing to the effected areas. She integrates cognitive and social skills to interact appropriately with patients and our therapists. Ms. White offers a fresh and beneficial perspective with her education from Moultrie Technical College.
Lindsey Pittman is a Physical Therapist Aide and the Wellness Director at Jerry Mercer Physical Therapy. She is a 2010 graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education, Health and Physical Education. Lindsey also completed the certificate program for Personal Training at Kennesaw State University in 2008. She works side by side with patients walking them through therapeutic exercises. In the wellness program, Lindsey offers one on one cardiovascular and muscular strength training knowledge to patients who have completed physical therapy. Lindsey offers guidance to patients who want to continue physical fitness and wellness as a lifestyle.
Miranda Heintz is the Office Manager at Jerry Mercer Physical Therapy. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development from Penn State University. Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Miranda moved to Valdosta with her husband, Aaron and dog, Toby. Aaron is a 2nd LT Civil Engineer with the Air Force and currently stationed at Moody AFB. While here, Toby became certified to be a Therapy dog and enjoys going to Nursing Homes in the area. Toby is the reason Miranda became interested in the Physical Therapy field. She loves working at Jerry Mercer Physical Therapy because of the warm and friendly environment.
Jerry Mercer has been a physical therapist for 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served proudly for 4 years. He graduated from Valdosta State University, formerly known as Valdosta State College, and Georgia State University. He helped start the local Diabetic Education Program, where he taught for 12 years. He is active with the local Chamber of Commerce, member of Redland Baptist Church and active in community activities. He is a very caring and compassionate individual with a positive and cheerful disposition. He is determined in helping those that have been turned away with little help or improvement. He believes that everyone can be helped and healed. His practice has a 90% success rate. He looks forward to meeting you!
